The Doyle Tapered Auger Vertical Blender is the blender of choice for blending dry prilled and granular materials. Requiring half the space of a conventional rotary style blender, our Vertical Blender is an excellent choice for today's high volume plants.
The blender tank and inlet hopper are constructed of 12 ga. 304 stainless steel. Blender top, support legs, and bottom plate are constructed of 3/16" 304 stainless steel. As with all Doyle products, the tank is 100% welded inside and out. All blenders have a heavy duty drive mounting system, with an industrial grade gearbox, and NEMA C high efficiency motor. Mild steel blenders are available for less corrosive environments.
The heart of the blender is a 40" to 22" tapered auger. This means that the auger is 40" in diameter at the base and tapers to 22" in diameter at the top. Doyle augers are solid welded on both sides, and have a continuous taper for smoother and gentler blending. The auger pulls incoming material into the bottom cone of the tank, it then lifts and folds the materials, achieving an accurate and gentle mix every time. The tapered auger also does an excellent job of impregnation with virtually no build up. The bottom sweep on the auger provides total clean-out. The auger bearing is externally mounted for easy changing, as the auger bearing carries no weight. The double auger sealing system insures there is no leakage from the tank, this prolongs the bearing life, and keeps the area around the blender cleaner.
The Vertical Blender is loaded by dumping materials into the side inlet hopper, which is available in numerous sizes to fit your needs. All inlet hoppers come with a heavy duty mild steel screen to reduce foreign objects from entering the system. The optional hopper conditioner option makes quick work of lumpy products.
A mechanical knife and pivot scale, and digital readout allow you to accurately load the desired materials to your exact specifications. The scale is mounted on a mild steel tubular frame, which is also available in stainless steel. The digital readout has large 2" numerals, which makes reading the exact weight easy.
Blended materials gravity discharged out the bottom of the tank, thru a salem valve discharge gate. The discharge can be configured to open manually, hydraulically, electrically, or be air operated.
